Tip off leads to R1.5m drug bust
Four suspects were arrested in Muizenberg on charges of dealing in drugs, Western Cape police said.
|||Cape Town - Western Cape police on Wednesday said following a tip-off from a reliable source, four suspects were arrested in Muizenberg on charges of dealing in drugs.
The provincial police spokesperson Andrè Traut said that the arrests took place on Tuesday night after the Western Cape Flying Squad reacted to information from a reliable source about drugs being transported from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
Once in Muizenberg, police identified the vehicle believed to be carrying the drugs.
A stop and search was conducted upon which police discovered tik valued at R8 400 and mandrax worth R1.5 million.
“Four suspects, two men aged 21 and 39 and two females aged 41 and 48, were arrested for dealing in drugs,” said Traut.
“Once charged, they are due to make a court appearance in Wynberg.”
