Guardiola in talks with Gundogan

According to the rumours, Pep Guardiola will try to bring Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City.

Bild reports that soon-to-be Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has met with the agent of Ilkay Gundogan.

“The outgoing Bayern Munich coach travelled to Amsterdam on Monday to discuss transfer business with City director Txiki Begiristain, with rumours suggesting the pair were discussing moves for Ajax’s Riechedly Bazoer and PSV’s Jetro Willems. The latest report, however, claims the pair were holding talks with Gundogan’s agent over a summer move to the Etihad,” it stated.

It would be recalled that the current Bayern Munich coach, Pep Guardiola was appointed as the new manager at Manchester City for next season on a three-year-deal. According to the Daily Star, Guardiola  agreed with Bayern that he will not try to bring any of their stars to the English Premier League. However, the source notes that Guardiola is a huge admirer of Robert Lewandowski and is reportedly keen to bring in a strike partner for Sergio Aguero.
