How Kano Govt plans to reconstruct the Sabon Gari market
– Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has already given his permission to the Traders in the market to reconstruct their respective shops
– Kano state urges traders them to work in liaison with Engineers from his Ministry that have temporarily relocated into the Market in ensuring that all building meets the required standard set by his Ministry
– The Commissioner informs the traders on the need to leave access road that will allow free passage of vehicles into the market in case of any eventuality
The Kano state commissioner of works and transport have mobilize 60 civil engineers from his ministry to the burnt down Abubakar Rimi Market (popularly known as Sabon Gari Market) to ensure strict compliance with standard building codes obtained anywhere in the Country.
The commissioner stated this when he led the team of the professionals round the burnt structure. He said that, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has already given his permission to the Traders in the market to reconstruct their respective shops in line with the meeting the Governor held with them at Government House recently.

Honorable Shehu Haruna Lambu said that, Government magnanimously assented to the request by the traders in handling the reconstruction of the individual shops in order to cushion the effect brought about by the fire disaster but warned them to work in liaison with Engineers from his Ministry that have temporarily relocated into the Market in ensuring that all building meets the required standard set by his Ministry.
The Commissioner informed the Traders on the need to leave access road that will allow free passage of vehicles into the market in case of any eventuality.

Conducting the Commissioner round, the Chairman of the Market Traders Welfare Committee Alhaji Ali Bagadaza expressed appreciation of the traders to the State Government for allowing them to rebuilt their shops and stalls.
He appealed to traders to desist erecting any structure on access and link roads within the market, adding that by so doing, they will create yet another problem to free movement of vehicles and people whenever unfortunate incident happens there.
