PIL filed against water contractor in Chandrapur

Vidarbha Prahar Kamgar Sanghatana (VPKS) has filed a public interest litigation alleging large scale misappropriation in allocation of water supply contract to Ujjawal Construction Private Limited by Chandrapur Municipal Corporation (CMC). Nagpur bench of Bombay high court has served notices to 18 people including chief secretary of state, principal secretary of urban development ministry, municipal commissioner of Chandrapur, mayor, office-bearers in corporation, political leaders and director of contractor company seeking their reply in three weeks.
