On his music journey, he explained that it wasn’t always a smooth one. He talked about starting music as early as seven or eight after which his dad noticed his interests in music and everything kicked off from there.
He eventually started music professionally in 2014 even though he had a prior background in the earlier years as he hung around the likes of Jah Bless, Montana, Reminisce and Sexy Steel who taught him to commercialize his sounds, fitting them more with the current market dictates.
On his move to Gworldwide entertainment, the music label which eventually launched him into stardom, he credited his producer for the efforts.
He also talked about making the song I’m In Love and how it got on to major blogs and online platforms after which Emperor Geezy got hold of his stuff and contacted him to sign a proper contract as an artiste under Gworldwide.
On his hit record Woju, he explained that he didn’t see that amount of buzz coming.
According to him: “It was a very fast [studio] session, it took us just a little while to record the song, it was the easiest song for us. I was even thinking it was one of those songs that Emperor would just listen to and then just dump, because he’s a kind of person that, in a day I might record like seven songs and he’s gonna end up picking one and just put others aside.
“But right from the studio, Emperor was grooving to it and I could see he [liked] it so I just put in more effort… Coublon helped with it as well and that was it. It became a hit.”
He then travelled to various countries of the world on popular demand as a result of that one hit song.
The young singer also reminisced about memories with his late father who was a painter and lecturer, talking about the great values he got from the latter.
After Woju, Laye came in and then it was confirmed beyond doubts that the pop singer had it in him.
