A 'Galaxy Quest' Sequel Was In The Works Before Alan Rickman's Death
In a better world, Alan Rickman would be alive and "Galaxy Quest" would have a sequel. But we are resigned to live a Rickman-less existence ever since the British actor died after a battle with cancer in January.
One of his most beloved onscreen roles was in the 1999 sci-fi comedy "Galaxy Quest," which quickly became a cult favorite due to its overt parodying of the classic "Star Trek" series and fandom. Rumors of a potential sequel have been circulating ever since the film's release, but since Rickman's death, it looks like the world won't be seeing "Galaxy Quest 2" anytime soon.
