China slams G7 statement on maritime disputes

At a two-day G7 meeting held in Hiroshima, the members issued a joint statement emphasising the peaceful settlement of maritime disputes. This evoked a strong reaction from China which saw the statement as fuelling tensions and interference in regional issues.
