Philippines diplomat to China: Don't turn disputed shoal into island

A diplomat from the Philippines on Tuesday warned that any attempt by China to turn a disputed shoal in the South China Sea into an island will escalate tensions in the region. He further asked for help from the US and other countries to convince China to stop the construction.
