Sibling ‘plunged knife into sister’s chest’
An argument between two “loving” sisters from Hanover Park turned deadly when the younger sibling was stabbed with a kitchen knife.
|||Cape Town - An argument between two sisters turned deadly when the younger sibling was stabbed.
Natalie Ventura, 20, died in hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning after her sister Natasha Ventura, 31, allegedly plunged a knife into her chest.
Their mother Pamela Ventura, 50, said she doesn’t know what her daughters argued about.
Natasha allegedly threw the murder weapon, a kitchen knife, in the bin of their Hanover Park home.
Natasha then rushed her bleeding sister to the Philippi Day Hospital before turning herself in to police.
She has been charged with murder and appeared in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where she was released on R500 bail.
Speaking to the Daily Voice outside the Court, Pamela said her daughters were very loving towards each other.
“I don’t know what the argument was about, I was sleeping,” she said.
“They were in the kitchen and when I walked in, Natalie was holding her chest and said she was stabbed. The other one was crying.
“They loved each other and they did everything together. They played netball together and they worked together,” she added.
A friend of both sisters, Waseema Hayers, 28, said Natalie was excited about her 21st birthday in December.
“She saved all her money for a big party but now we have to use it to pay for her funeral,” she said
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the motive of the stabbing is still being investigated.
