12 years on, kin of Kumbakonam school kids to get Rs5Lakh as relief

In a crushing blow to families of 94 schoolchildren who died in the 2004 Kumbakonam fire and who have been waging a civil compensation battle for years, a one-man judicial commission that the Madras high court set up recommended that the state pay compensation of only 5 lakh to each of the families.
