Hawker eviction triggers violence at Asansol station

Hawkers ran amok at the Asansol station on Tuesday afternoon, destroying property worth lakhs on Tuesday. The violence continued for nearly 45 minutes before a large Railway Protection Force (RPF) contingent reached the spot and resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.
