|||Washington - Saudi Arabia could not survive without US support for half a year and NATO nations owe the United States enormous sums for their protection, US Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump told a rally in the city of Buffalo in New York State.
“If we didn’t take care of Saudi Arabia they wouldn’t be there for six months,” Trump stated on Monday night on the eve of the New York primary election, which he is expected to win by a wide margin.
“They have to pay up folks. They owe us tremendous amounts of money.”
Trump added that NATO member states including Germany also needed to pay the United States major sums for their continued protection by the US military.
“I want them to pay up: All of the stuff in arrears. They’re talking advantage of us… We have to straighten out our country. They have to take care of us,” he stressed.
Trump said that in Europe and Northeast Asia the United States was defending “unbelievably successful countries” that could afford to pay for more for the costs of being protected by the United States.
