– Ogun state police intercepted trucks filled with fuel
– The fuel was allegedly gotten from an NNPC pipeline
– The suspected vandals fled but police vows to arrest them.
Three fully loaded trucks of fuel suspected to have been siphoned illegally from NNPC pipeline by vandals at Agbowa area of Ogun state have been recovered by the police.
Police operatives attached to Ogijo Division under the Sagamu Area Command in the state on Monday recovered the trucks at about 12:30 am.

The police operatives, acted on a tip off, moved to the portion of the pipeline, where the suspected vandals fled the scene as they sighted the police and abandoned the trucks.
His was contained in a release by the state police command in Eleweran, Abeokuta and signed by Muyiwa Adejobi who is the spokesperson of the police.
“The divisional police officer in charge of Ogijo division, who led the operation, has personally escorted the trucks to Abeokuta for safe keeping and proper investigation, as directed by the commissioner of police in Ogun State, Abdulmajid Ali.

“The commissioner of police has commended the divisional police officer and his men for the successful operation that led to the recovery of the trucks, and warned that anyone who is involved in such criminal and deadly act in Ogun state will not be spared.
“The state police boss however assured the people and residents of the state of thorough investigation into the matter.”
The state police boss also gave assurance that all the fleeing suspected vandals will be apprehended and be caused to face the full wrath of the law.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to treat pipeline vandals like Boko Haram terrorist. This has irked a group, Niger Delta Avengers which vows t continue to vandalise pipelines
