More revelations trail Saraki’s case at CCT
– A witness Michael Wetka, who is an operative of the EFCC denies handling investigation relating to Senator Saraki’s case
– Michael Wetka tells the court that he does not recall if there were more petitions against Saraki other than the ones the court has access to
An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Michael Wetkas, who is also a witness in the ongoing case of Senator Bukola Saraki on Tuesday, April 19, denied knowledge of the content of a petition marked as exhibit 11 against Bukola Saraki, the Senate president.

The petition in question was filed by Kwara Freedom Network alleging corruption against Saraki.
This was disclosed while answering questions posed to him by Kanu Agabi, the lead counsel to Saraki, Agabi asked Wetkas if he interviewed any of the petitioners who called on the EFCC to investigate the state universal board and the witness said it was true but his team didn’t handle that investigation.
Also, Agabi asked if he interviewed the accountant general of Kwara state on the board investigation, the witness said he didn’t.
Danladi Umar, the presiding judge, supporting the witness said it was already in the paper work from the witness but Agabi said he needed to hear Wetkas say it.
Again, when he was asked if he met with any of the Kwara state petitioners in which he tendered the documents, Wetkas denied knowledge of the investigation.

When asked if there were more petitions than the 11 the court has access to, Wetkas said he does not recall.
Agabi also asked if Wetkas obtained the documents from the petitioners, Wetkas said he had no knowledge of that.
However, Agabi also asked the witness if Saraki was invited by the EFCC, but Wetkas replied: “It was not part of my investigation. I know he was invited but I do not know if he came or not. There are people who are competent to talk about that.
Also, Agabi asked if Wetkas had read exhibit 11 but he said he only perused it.
Agabi went ahead to ask if any action has been taken after exhibit 11 which is a part of the evidence, but Wetkas that he was not in the best position to answer that question.
However, it would be recalled that Wetkas on Monday, April 18, made a revelation that Saraki bought a property for N522mwhich he failed to declare it at the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
He said that payment for the property is situated at 17 McDonald Street, Ikoyi, Lagos was done in seven tranches.
Wetkas claimed the property was bought in the name of Tiny Tee Limited from a presidential Implementation Committee on landed property between 2006 and 2007.
Saraki has been charged to court since September22, 2015 over 13 counts of corruption bordered on corruption. At the time of this report, the witness is still answering questions posed to him by Saraki’s lawyer
