The Police Service Commission (PSC) has disclosed that 705, 352 applications have applied to be enlisted in the Nigerian Police Force as at 7.30 am, Tuesday, April 19.

Disclosing details of the applications received so far, head of the press and public relations of the commission, Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement stated that 202, 427 applications were for the position of cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), 169,446, for the position of cadet Inspector and 333,479 for the position of constables.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the commission said among 10,000 new entrants approved for enlistment into the force, 202, 427 applications were for the position of cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), 169,446, for the position of cadet Inspector and 333,479 for the position of constables.

The commission explained that it would recruit 500 Cadet ASPs, 500 Cadet Inspectors, 1,500 Specialist Officers and 7, 500 Constables to meet the approved number of entrants into the force.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the commission, Mike Okiro has assured the public that the commission will process of recruitment transparent. He said the process of receiving the forms had been smooth and transparent so far.
