Man pleads not guilty in shooting death of Rutgers student

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A man accused in the fatal shooting of a Rutgers University student has pleaded not guilty to murder and robbery charges.

The 25-year-old Newark man is charged with murder, felony murder and robbery in the April 10 slaying of 21-year-old Shani Patel, who was shot in his off-campus apartment near the university's Newark campus.
