Coos County jury finds man guilty of murder in beating death

(AP) — A 36-year-old man has been convicted of murder in the death of a man whose body was found on tidal mudflats near a wastewater treatment plant in Coos Bay.

The Register-Guard reports (http://bit.ly/1WgF5X0 ) that Shawn Yamate was also found guilty Thursday of conspiracy to tamper with a witness, attempted tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
