The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Abdullahi Adamu, a former governorship candidate in Bauchi state for an alleged fraud of N6.5billion.
According to This Day, Adamu, who is also the Managing Director, Guroje Mining Company Limited, was arrested after a petition by a Chinese national, Fengquai Zhai, who alleged that the suspect duped him over N6.5 billion.
Zhai claimed that Adamu duped him after appointing him a shareholder with 30% share in his company, Solid Units Nigeria Limited, in partial fulfilment of the mandatory requirements for incorporation of a company in Nigeria.

The EFCC have arrested Abdullahi Adamu, a former governorship candidate in Bauchi state for an alleged fraud of N6.5billion.
The Chinese added that Adamu forged several documents at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in an attempt to take over the company from him.
Following Zhai’s claims, Abdulahi who had been declared wanted at different times, was arrested on Monday, April 18, 2016 by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Bauchi and handed over to operatives of EFCC, for alleged criminal conspiracy, fraud and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N6,523,431,000, including $ 550,000.

The former governorship aspirant was also arrested following a petition by Zhou Shanqing, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor Embassy of the People Republic of China on behalf of Shengjia International Limited who allegedly made an advance payment of the sum of $550,000 to his (suspect) company for the supply of 300 Mt of lead ore.
A detective at the EFCC, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “The suspect was also arrested following a petition by Zhou Shanqing, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor Embassy of the People Republic of China on behalf of Shengjia International Limited who allegedly made an advance payment of $ 550,000 to the suspect’s company for the supply of 300 metric tonnes of lead ore.
“The complainant, however, could not receive the goods three months after the contract shipment time.”
The suspect is expected to be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
Abdullahi Adamu was Kowa Party governorship candidate in Bauchi state in the 2015 governorship election.
