Despite its misleadingly old-world-ish exterior, the pristine Gran Hotel del Sardinero is bang up to date after a flashy 2012 facelift. Its status as a classic remains intact, rooms are slickly contemporary and the location is excellent, in the middle of El Sardinero’s beach action.
