Giants roster moves: Infielder arrives, outfielder departs
The Giants made a few roster moves Friday ahead of their series opener against the Marlins.
The optioned outfielder Mac Williamson to Triple-A Sacramento and purchased the contract of infielder Conor Gillaspie, who last played for the Giants in 2012 before they traded him to the White Sox.
To clear a 40-man spot for Gillaspie, the Giants transferred Ehire Adrianza to the 60-day disabled list.
Manager Bruce Bochy had hinted Williamson might get sent down because he is not getting any playing time and to bring up another infielder.
