The Queen is a football 'expert' among world leaders, says ex-Fifa president Sepp Blatter
Queen Elizabeth II received an unexpected 90th birthday present after disgraced Fifa president Sepp Blatter rated her sporting knowledge as better than a host of 'world leaders' - including Silvio Berlusconi.
Blatter revealed a list of his top 10 world leaders (past and present) by their knowledge of football, among other insights in his first post-presidential book: 'Sepp Blatter: Mission & Passion fussball.'
AC Milan owner and former Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi has overseen five of Milan's seven Champions League triumphs since taking over the Rossoneri back in 1986.
But Blatter says the Queen's ability to recognise him at a Buckingham Palace reception in 2004 - as part of Fifa's centenary celebrations, no less - puts her above above the controversial Italian.
Blatter told Sky Sports News of his meeting with the Queen: "She saw me and said, 'I know you, you are the man of football.' She is une grande dame, a ready lady."
China President Xi Jingping - who visited Manchester City's new training complex last year - is first in Baltter's rankings, with Nelson Mandela second and the Queen fifth.

Blatter is currently serving a six-year ban from football following a €1.8 million payment made by Fifa to then-Uefa president Michel Platini in 2011.
