43 out of 85 Oscar shortlist films for Foreign Language will screen in Awards Buzz category
Pablo Larraín’s “Neruda” and Maren Ade’s “Toni Erdmann” are among the high-profile foreign language films that will compete for the FIPRESCI Award at this year’s Palm Springs International Film Festival, the festival announced Tuesday.
In the Awards Buzz category, the annual fest will screen 43 of the 85 official submissions for this year’s Foreign Language Oscar, including Croatia’s “On The Other Side” and Iceland’s “Sparrows.”
The PSIFF Awards Buzz section is selected by its own programmers, and voted on by a jury of international film critics who will hand out Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress prizes.
