Saint Joseph’s edges Drexel 72-71
PHILADELPHIA — Shavar Newkirk scored 27 points, including the go-ahead 3-point play with 11 seconds left, and Nick Robinson got a game-saving block to lift Saint Joseph’s past Drexel for a 72-71 comeback win Sunday night.
Trailing by 10 in the second half, Saint Joseph’s took its first lead of the game with an 18-5 run that made it 57-54 with 9:16 left. Drexel tied it with Kurk Lee’s 3-pointer, then edged back into the lead with a pair of free throws from Rodney Williams.
