Premium Times reports that CCB, in a reply to a petition by a civil society group called Civil Society Network against Corruption (CSNAC), pledged to invite Buratai for questioning on the allegations.

The Bureau said the delay in carrying out the verification exercise for Buratai’s asset declaration was because he was involved in driving out the Boko Haram insurgents.

But now that he said the way against the insurgents is over, then the CCB would soon invite him.

Ijeanuli Arinze was said to have written to CSNAC on August 5 and told the body that it would definitely invite Buratai for question.

The letter read: “Please be informed that General Buratai’s asset would have been verified and that he was equally communicated on this.”

Adding that “Now that the war on insurgency has been considerably contained, the military officers that were earlier scheduled, including General Buratai himself, would, shortly, be invited for the exercise.”

Meanwhile, Buratai recently wrote some policy handbooks for the Nigerian Army to help them fight the war against the insurgents properly.
