AMAZING! Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala bags awards in 2 countries (photos)
Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is no stranger to awards and achievements, therefore we celebrate with her as once again her awesome work has been recognized outside her home country, Nigeria.
She served twice as Nigeria’s Finance Minister and also as Minister of Foreign Affairs. She was the first woman to hold both positions.
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala is also renowned as the first female and black candidate to contest for the presidency of the World Bank Group in 2012.
Also she has been listed for 5 consecutive years as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world by Forbes magazine.
In 2013, she was listed as one of the most influential people in the world by TIME magazine and in 2015, she was also listed as one of the 50 Greatest World Leaders by Fortune.

The list goes on and on. On Monday, December 12, she posted this on her official Facebook page:
"I'm grateful to His Excellency, President Alassane Ouattara, and Her Excellency, President Johnson-Sirleaf, for the National Honors of Côte d'Ivoire and Liberia conferred on me for works on development supporting the two countries and Africa."

Meanwhile, there were recently speculations that Dr Okonjo-Iweala was planning to run for president of Nigeria in 2019.

However, she has released a statement dispelling the rumours, in which she said: "Our attention has been drawn to speculative media stories linking former Minister of Finance, Dr Okonjo-Iweala with the next presidential election scheduled to hold in 2019.
"In an effort to invest their efforts with phony credibility, those behind the project have even gone to the extent of designing a fake campaign poster embossed with her image.
"This is to clarify that Dr Okonjo-Iweala who is busy with important international duties has absolutely nothing to do with these speculations and activities."
