Australian Harry Froling leaving SMU, disappointed in role
DALLAS — SMU freshman Harry Froling of Australia is leaving the program and expressing disappointment over his role under new coach Tim Jankovich.
Froling said Monday it was a “big sacrifice” to leave his home country to play for the Mustangs and the change has been difficult. The 6-foot-11 forward said he was “going to look at all of my options collegiately and professionally back home.”
The 18-year-old Froling averaged 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds while playing almost 15 minutes per game for the Mustangs.
