Yerkrapah Volunteer Union continues to defend Armenia`s borders
ArmInfo. After the 44-day war and to this day, the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union continues to defend
the borders of Armenia, the head of the Union, Sasun Mikaelyan, told reporters on March 5 at the Yerablur memorial military burial complex.
According to him, the initiative to create the Yerkrapah Volunteer
Union belongs to ex-Prime Minister and former Minister of Defense of
the Republic of Armenia Vazgen Sargsyan, whose 65th birthday is
celebrated on March 5. "During the time of sparape t, we managed to
liberate some areas of the homeland that were under the control of
the enemy. Today, we continue the work that Vazgen Sargsyan started,"
Mikaelyan said.
He added that in the current conditions of redistribution of
geopolitical interests, it is necessary to show flexibility and unity
so as not to face even greater problems in the future.
The head of the Union was outraged by the question of journalists
about the transfer of a soldier of the Azerbaijani army captured in
Armenia to Azerbaijan. Mikaelyan noted that the National Security
Service professionally fulfills its duties. "And in general,
journalists "should not poke their nose into things that aren't their
own," he concluded, recalling that there are Armenian prisoners of
war in Azerbaijan as well.
