Countries in the region will play an important role in the emerging multipolar world, the president believes

Brazil's Ministry of Sports released a new list Thursday (Sep. 28) with the names of 236 beneficiaries under the country's Bolsa Atleta program in 2023. The new recipients have signed the agreement to receive the allowance and can now use the money for the next 12 months.

Brazil's unemployment rate stood at 7.8 percent in the quarter ending in August this year. The percentage is at its lowest since February 2015 (7.5%) and shows the proportion of people who looked for a job and could not find one in the period relative to the labor force, which is the sum of the employed and unemployed.

In his inaugural speech as head of Brazil's Supreme Court, Justice Luis Roberto Barroso stood up for democracy and said the Armed Forces did not "succumb to coup-mongering." He was referring to the riots of January 8, adding that his fellow justices are united in defense of democracy.
