Suspect in teen rape and kidnap case captured in Texas

A nationwide manhunt was underway Thursday for three men suspected of kidnapping and raping two teenage sisters in Ohio. One of the suspects was captured, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent joined the search because the men are believed to be in the U.S. illegally. CBS News national correspondent Jericka Duncan reports.



Trump administration increases count of separated migrant children

The Trump administration on Thursday increased its count of migrant children who have been separated from their families at the border. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said it is somewhere under 3,000. Last week, he said it was just over 2,000. CBS News correspondent Mireya Villarreal reports.

A growing cloud of scandal cost the head of the Environmental Protection Agency his job. Scott Pruitt, the target of more than a dozen government investigations into his ethics and spending, was forced out on Thursday. He will be replaced, at least temporarily, by his deputy, a former lobbyist for the coal industry. CBS News chief White House correspondent Major Garrett reports.
