An Ohio man may be released from the hospital Thursday after being found nearly a week after he disappeared on the slopes of an active volcano in Washington state. Matthew Matheny was reported missing last Thursday after his car was discovered on a Mount St. Helens trail. Matheny told friends he stayed alive by eating berries and bees. Don Dahler reports.

An Arizona father is charged with murder after police say he beat a man to death who was reportedly trying to go into the bathroom stall his daughter was in. Melvin Harris is accused of killing Leon Armstrong earlier this month at a QuikTrip convenience store in Phoenix. Carter Evans spoke to both families.

ICE accused of setting deportation traps at citizenship offices

U.S. immigration officials are defending their actions after civil rights activists accused them of setting deportation traps for undocumented immigrants who are legally trying to change their status. A new lawsuit filed by the ACLU claims at least 17 people have been arrested by ICE agents at citizenship offices around New England so far this year. Jeff Pegues reports.

A new CDC estimate says drug overdoses killed a record 72,000 Americans last year. More than 70 people overdosed on a synthetic marijuana Wednesday at or near a Connecticut park. The drug, known as K2, can be 100 times more potent than regular marijuana. Tony Dokoupil reports.
