This pilot fish handles lots of requests for reports from the company's ERP system -- and most of them are asking for lots of data.

"One day I received a request from someone I consider to be one of the most intelligent persons in our organization," says fish. "His request was for a large data set, not unlike any of his other requests.

"Except for one column, which he wanted to display projected available inventory. His request for the column was: Projected available ending quantity after all supply/demands are netted (will be a + or - or 0 value)

"So...if I add and subtract some numbers, the result will be a positive or negative or zero number? Really?"
