Trump Won't Lead On Civil Asset Forfeiture, So Congress Will Have To Push Him
President Trump has indicated that he's inclined to side with police on civil asset forfeiture, allowing a system that hurts many innocent people to remain in place because it supposedly helps "fight crime." But this isn't properly a decision for the president. Congress should change the law.
