ROCKETS HEADLINE DEAL: The Houston Rockets agreed to a major trade late last night, one that involved 12 total players and four teams. If the deal goes down as agreed upon, it will be the third-largest trade ever based on number of players, and the largest since 2005-06 when the Heat acquired Antoine Walker, James Posey and Jason Williams.

Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond has been a constant source of trade scuttle this season, as his team appears ready to initiate a full-scale rebuild. Drummond, a two-time All-Star, is averaging 17.5 points, 15.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocks per game on the year, making him one of the league’s top stat-stuffers. The NBA recently announced changes to the All-Star Game, but that’s not the only tweak to All-Star Weekend: The league has also decided to make an addition to the Three-Point Contest, as contestants will now attempt two additional shots from six feet behind the three-point line.

The helicopter crash that killed NBA legend Kobe Bryant, along with his daughter Gianna and seven others, is still fresh in many people’s minds, so it was only natural the league was going to honor Kobe and his daughter, as well as the others who perished, during the 69th NBA All-Star Game which will be played in Chicago on Feb. 16.
