Woj went on to report that there has been “improvement” and even that he’s been told there’s “optimism” that Joel Embiid can return to action for Game 2 slotted for Wednesday night. Embiid was seen participating in the team’s shootaround Monday morning, walking and putting up shots notably without a brace on his injured knee. The goal for most NBA teams every season is to make the playoffs. Some have higher aspirations, like winning a title, but most franchises have to be more realistic and accept that just qualifying for the postseason is a respectable annual accomplishment.

Stephen Curry exploded for 50 points as he led the Golden State Warriors to the second round after beating the Sacramento Kings 120-100 in Game 7.

After 16 long years in the lottery, the Sacramento Kings finally ended their record-breaking playoff drought. Not only did they exceed expectations by placing third in the West but they also managed to steal three games from the defending champions. The Kings finally have a legitimate core led by De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis and they have the means to significantly improve the roster around them.
