Los Angeles has continued to tell teams it doesn’t want to part with Austin Reaves, sources said. There does seem to be a pathway for a Murray-to-Los Angeles deal if the Lakers would be willing to include Reaves, sources said, although that would require the Hawks to send back more value for Los Angeles’ liking. Around the league, D’Angelo Russell’s $17 million salary has not been viewed as a valuable trade chip for the Lakers to bolster their roster behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Mitchell Robinson may be back in time for the playoffs. The NBA denied the Knicks’ request for a Disabled Player Exception this week, leaving the organization optimistic that Robinson can return from his ankle injury late in the regular season. Robinson suffered a stress fracture in his left ankle in a Dec. 8 loss at the Boston Celtics. The injury required surgery. Kawhi Leonard said he hopes taking less than what he was eligible for in a contract extension with the LA Clippers will keep Paul George and James Harden with the team as well. The Clippers announced Leonard’s deal Wednesday but did not disclose terms.
