Nets intend to keep Mikal Bridges?
Would Brooklyn consider trading Mikal Bridges? Adrian Wojnarowski: I believe Brooklyn’s intent remains to build and add talent around Mikal Bridges.

This is what the Nets have gotten from Mikal Bridges, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Cam Thomas over their last seven games:
40.9 PPG (combined)
38% FG
24% from three
73% FT
I wouldn’t anticipate them being in any games with these numbers. – 9:25 PM

Mikal Bridges just doesn’t look comfortable offensively. It’s especially stood out during these last few games.
Hesitating when he gets to spots that he’s normally automatic from. – 9:01 PM

Sengun had his foul overturned, but got whistled for a technical – which Mikal Bridges missed. It’s that kind of game. – 8:53 PM

The Good: the Pelicans lead the Nets 85-58 after 3 quarters.
The Bad: NBA officials continue to miss the most obvious of calls against Zion Williamson. Mikal Bridges absolutely tried to grab Z on a dunk attempt but no foul call, and worse, Z got hit with the T for arguing. – 9:39 PM

Zion gets a technical foul after Mikal Bridges intentionally grabbed him on the way up to the rim for a dunk (but somehow no foul was called). I’ll gladly pay the fine for Zion on that one (with someone else’s money) – 9:36 PM

Nets trail 59-34 at the half:
Mikal Bridges: 2/8 FG, 1 ast, 2 TO
Cam Thomas: 0/7 FG, 0 ast, 1 TO
Spencer Dinwiddie: 0/5 FG, 4 ast, 1 TO
That’s 2/20 shooting with five assists and four turnovers from your three lead ball-handlers. Not much else needs to be said. – 9:04 PM

The Nets’ point-of-attack defense is very bad. It starts there with teams creating constant advantages.
Brooklyn’s two lead ball-handlers – Spencer Dinwiddie and Cam Thomas – are glaring negatives and Mikal Bridges hasn’t been good.
Reality of the situation. – 8:41 PM

Mikal Bridges and Spencer Dinwiddie miss their first shots and New Orleans drains three-straight threes to take a 9-0 lead.
That’s a pretty good summary of how things have gone for the Nets during this 3-9 stretch over the last 12. – 8:14 PM

Evan Sidery: The Nets have no intention of trading Mikal Bridges, per @wojespn. Brooklyn wants to continue to add talent around Bridges as a foundational piece to their roster. pic.twitter.com/8j4FmD7qYg -via Twitter @esidery / January 3, 2024
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander paced the home team with 24 points, four rebounds and six assists. Mikal Bridges finished with 22 points on 8-of-20 shooting and Cam Thomas added 20 in 26 minutes. Brooklyn was outscored 16-9 in transition and went 20-of-31 from the free throw line. -via New York Daily News / December 31, 2023
The NBA is reviewing the Nets’ decision to field a threadbare roster against the Bucks on Wednesday, The Post has learned. The league is determining whether it rises to the level of a finable offense. In a case of load management that offended many of their fans — and appeared to vex their star player, Mikal Bridges — the Nets opted to sit four players against visiting Milwaukee, then compounded matters by pulling three more early in the 144-122 defeat. Nicolas Claxton, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and Cam Johnson all sat out entirely. Then the Nets doubled down, pulling Bridges, Cam Thomas and Royce O’Neale all after the first quarter. -via New York Post / December 31, 2023
