Lakers interested in Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, Royce O'Neale
Dejounte Murray is going to continue to emerge as the top target for the Lakers, from what I’m told…Another scenario to keep an eye on, players that the Lakers do have interest in I’m told, is three guys from the Nets: Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, Royce O’Neale.

More on this storyline
While Bridges and Claxton are expected to remain past the trade deadline, Nets starting point guard Spencer Dinwiddie is unlikely to be a long-term piece beyond this season, league sources told HoopsHype. -via HoopsHype / January 31, 2024
If they do make a deal, it would likely be for a guard — former Nets All-Star D’Angelo Russell has been among those names floated. With an expiring $20.3 million deal, Dinwiddie is the likely fulcrum in any big move before the deadline. -via ESPN / January 30, 2024
The Lakers view trades in which they move Russell for players like Portland’s Malcolm Brogdon, Washington’s Tyus Jones or Brooklyn’s Spencer Dinwiddie as lateral moves at best, and most likely downgrades, according to team sources. Murray is an exception, as previously stated. -via The Athletic / January 26, 2024
Grimes has also come up in multiple trade discussions with the Atlanta Hawks for guard Dejounte Murray and a separate smaller discussion involving AJ Griffin, league sources told HoopsHype. The Hawks are intrigued by Grimes as a potential 3-and-D fit next to Trae Young, sources said. -via HoopsHype / January 31, 2024
After boisterous rumblings around the league surrounding Dejounte Murray trade talks with the Los Angeles Lakers over the past few weeks, the noise has lessened. Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell, the centerpiece of any potential Murray acquisition contingent on him being flipped to a third team, has been on a tear during a 10-game stretch from Jan. 13-30 averaging 25.2 points and 6.1 assists. That third team has yet to materialize, while there’s also a hesitancy from Los Angeles to add another asset to incentivize a third team to take on Russell in addition to the Lakers’ 2029 first-round pick and former first-round pick Jalen Hood-Schifino who’ve already been discussed with Atlanta. -via HoopsHype / January 31, 2024
Before the game, Atlanta coach Quin Snyder refused to engage a reporter’s question about the trade rumor. “I shouldn’t even have to answer that question,” Synder said. “I think I made it clear that I don’t comment on rumors and speculation. It’s not something I get involved with.” -via Los Angeles Times / January 31, 2024
In other Nets news, rival executives who’ve spoken with HoopsHype believe Brooklyn could potentially garner multiple second-round picks in exchange for Royce O’Neale. Those same executives believe Brooklyn could garner a first-round pick and a rotation player for Dorian Finney-Smith should the Nets move the coveted veterans. -via HoopsHype / January 31, 2024
While the Suns were once considered primarily shopping for guards – and they remain connected to players in that salary range such as Delon Wright and Monte Morris, sources said – the Suns now seem to be generally looking at various rotation-level players, ranging from Jae’Sean Tate to Royce O’Neale, sources said, to Bridges and Charlotte teammate Nick Richards. -via Yahoo!
