The hastily-arranged meetings in the UAE capital between Kerry, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahayan and Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir will discuss how to unify opponents of Syria's President Bashar al-Assad, a senior State Department official said.

Nepal Protests: At Least 4 Dead In Clashes During Demonstrations Against New Constitution

Average US Gasoline Prices Resume Slide, Hit 10-Month Low: Lundberg

(Reuters) -- The average price of gasoline in the United States resumed its slide over the past two weeks, dropping 11 cents to $2.14 a gallon, the lowest since late January, according to a Lundberg survey released on Sunday. The 5 percent decline in gasoline prices came as oil refiners and gasoline wholesalers and retailers passed along lower oil-buying prices to consumers, said survey publisher Trilby Lundberg in emailed comments.

Asian Shares Point Higher After US Has Best Week This Year; Japan On Holiday

Asian stocks pointed higher Monday morning after U.S. shares had their best week this year and investors shook off concerns about terror attacks in Paris and Mali. Both oil and gold slipped. New Zealand and Australia, the first two major markets to open, were up 0.7 percent and 0.1 percent. While Japan, the biggest market in the region, is closed for a holiday, Hong Kong futures are up about 0.3 percent, and Hong Kong, China and Korea futures are also higher.

Belgian Police Arrest 16 Terror Suspects, While Main Target Remains At Large

In a series of 22 raids carried out late Sunday evening, armed Belgian police officers arrested 16 individuals around Brussels and the surrounding area who are believed to be connected to last week’s terrorist attack in Paris. The key subject of Belgium’s national manhunt, however, Salah Abdeslam, remained at large. Amid the raids, residents were told to stay inside and away from windows. Helicopters circled above as armored police vehicles roamed the streets.
