HEALTHWATCH – Health officials say the Zika virus outbreak is no longer an international public health emergency. This does not mean Zika isn’t a problem, but on a global level the spread of Zika is under control. Zika is most commonly spread through infected mosquitoes and can cause birth defects in unborn children. Police and about 400 people who were protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline clashed Sunday evening as demonstrators set cars on fire and police launched tear gas and water at the crowds. FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — A Fayetteville man landed himself  in jail after he hit a truck head-on and fled the scene, led a high-speed chase of more than 120 miles per hour and also struck a patrol car, according to police. A new study finds that the prevalence of dementia has fallen sharply in recent years, most likely as a result of Americans’ rising educational levels and better heart health, which are both closely related to brain health. SEQUOYAH COUNTY (KFSM) — Burn bans have been issued for Sequoyah and LeFlore Counties on Monday (Nov. 21). The Sequoyah County commissioners decided to enact a burn ban for the county for seven days, said Steve Rutherford, Sequoyah County emergency manager. However, the ban could be recalled beforehand. SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — Ozark Regional Transit will be offering free rides on fixed rate routes during Thanksgiving week. The company announced they will be offering a free-fare week from Monday (Nov. 21) to Friday (Nov. 25) to show appreciation to their customers. The free fares applies to all fixed route transit buses, which operate in Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville. The service will not be running on Thanksgiving day. Regular fares will apply to curb-to-curb and paratransit  services.

Apple has admitted that some iPhone 6S devices can suddenly shut down for no apparent reason. The tech giant is offering owners of the problematic smartphones free replacement batteries. “A very small number” of iPhone 6S devices manufactured between September and October 2015 are affected, Apple (AAPL, Tech30) said in a statement Monday. TULSA, Okla. (KFOR) — Residents of a town hit by Oklahoma’s worst earthquake have filed a class-action lawsuit against dozens of energy companies, accusing them of triggering dozens of temblors by injecting wastewater from oil and gas production underground. Pawnee residents filed the suit Thursday against at least 27 companies, saying they operate wastewater injection wells even though they know the method causes earthquakes.
