An unsettled start to the workweek with a low risk for severe weather

Very warm and muggy weather is the forecast for the next several days. Temperatures are in the upper 60s to low 70s this Monday morning along with areas of fog. Highs today are expected to reach near 80° under mostly cloudy skies. Scattered showers and storms are likely after the noon hour with rain chances staying at 60% through tomorrow.

There is a low risk for severe weather and heavy rains. A few storms could contain damaging winds and/or large hail. A weak and brief tornado is possible too. Overall, much of Acadiana will receive 1" to 3" inches of rain with isolated higher amounts. The flash flooding risk should remain low for Acadiana and a bit higher to the east.
