Evangeline Parish traffic stop yields pickle jars full of pot
A routine traffic stop ended with an arrest for possessing two pickle jars of marijuana, authorities said.
MAMOU, La. (KLFY) -- A routine traffic stop ended with an arrest for possessing two pickle jars of marijuana, authorities said.
Collins Lee King, 35, of Mamou, is charged with possession of 67.04 grams (just over 2 ounces) of marijuana after being stopped by Evangeline Parish deputies Tuesday night.
Officials said deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office patrol division conducted a traffic stop on Veterans Memorial Highway near Darrel Road for an equipment violation. During the stop deputies said they developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
The search yielded the drugs in two pickle jars. Traffic citations were also issued for the equipment violation, authorities said.
Bond details were not released.
