Eunice man arrested in connection with Walmart carjacking
Around 1 p.m., officers went to the Walmart in reference to a carjacking that was happening by the grocery pickup area.
EUNICE, La. (KLFY)-- A Eunice man was arrested after authorities responded to a carjacking Thursday at Walmart, according to the Eunice Police Department.
Around 1 p.m., officers went to the Walmart in reference to a carjacking that was happening by the grocery pickup area. Before officers got there, 24-year-old Antonio Freeman of Eunice, the suspect, left the scene on foot and tried to break in to a private home in a nearby neighborhood, according to authorities.
The responding officers that were patrolling in the area were able to quickly capture Freeman. Freeman is being charged with carjacking, criminal damage to property and attempted home invasion, according to EPD.
Authorities said there were no reported injuries.
