Sulphur man and his mother charged with sex trafficking of underage girl

A Sulphur man is accused of sex trafficking involving an underage girl and his mother is charged with helping him, authorities said.
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A Sulphur man is accused of sex trafficking involving an underage girl and his mother is charged with helping him, authorities said.
Joshua D. Dixon, II, 18, and Jennifer Dixon, 46, both of Sulphur, are both charged with trafficking of children for sexual purposes and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles performing sexual acts. Joshua is additionally charged with contributing to the delinquency of juveniles with drugs.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said detectives received a report of possible carnal knowledge of a juvenile in June, and discovered Joshua Dixon was having a sexual relationship with a juvenile under the age of 16. Officials said Dixon harbored the victim at his home and hid her from law enforcement. Dixon also allegedly provided the girl with illegal narcotics when they were together.
Investigators said Dixon's mother Jennifer was helping her son harbor the victim, who had been reported missing, for sexual purposes. Jennifer also made efforts to hide Joshua’s sexual relationship with the girl from law enforcement, authorities said.
On March 7, Joshua Dixon and the juvenile were located in Montana by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and arrested, authorities said. The same day Jennifer Dixon was located and arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
Joshua’s bond is set at $525,000 and Jennifer’s bond at $825,000. Joshua is currently awaiting extradition back to Calcasieu Parish.
