Pedestrian in critical condition after Lafayette hit-and-run
The Lafayette Police Department said they are investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian.
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The Lafayette Police Department said they are investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian.
LPD said they are on the scene of a hit-and-run incident that occurred Sunday around 1:59 a.m. in the 500 block of SW Evangeline Thruway. A preliminary investigation indicates that a pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle and left the scene.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Officials said traffic investigators are on the scene, and are actively investigating the incident. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
The 500 block of SW Evangeline Thruway at Jefferson Street to Eighth Street will be closed for normal flow of traffic while traffic investigators conduct their investigation. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route of travel.
