LPSS recently released the agenda for its Wednesday night school board meeting where the relocation of the French and Spanish Immersion magnet academy to Scott middle school will be discussed.
LAFAYETTE, La (KLFY)-- LPSS recently released the agenda for its Wednesday night school board meeting where the relocation of the French and Spanish Immersion magnet academy to Scott middle school will be discussed.
Paul Breaux alum and rally organizer, Drake LeBlanc served as emcee of the rally. Leblanc strongly urged LPSS to keep the programs and the school open.
"Simply obey your civic duty or fulfill your personal code of ethics as if it were your children who are on the verge of getting this place. If these programs are taken from Paul Breaux, there's no doubt that it would benefit the individual districts of the proposed campuses," LeBlanc explained.
People like Lauren Bedsole expressed not only what Paul Breaux Middle means to them, but also the importance and impact the school has on the community.
"We have an international community of people who care about this particular school and the history here and the cultural landmark that this is. So, this is important to more than just us. We feel like it's important to the economy of the city, the tourism, everything," said Bedsole.
In attendance were city officials who support Paul Breaux middle and encouraged the community to attend the upcoming school board meeting set for Wednesday night at 5 p.m.
