Storms are likely through the weekend, much cooler air early next week
Scattered storms will be in the forecast for today, although recent high-resolution models have backed off the storm coverage expected today. I'll put storm chances at around 30-40% with the possibility of scattered storms popping up with weak upper-level features moving overhead. A low-end threat of severe weather with the main threats being damaging winds and hail. This threat will be higher across southeastern Texas. Otherwise, we'll see mostly cloudy skies, warm, and humid conditions.
The strongest disturbance will move in tomorrow, which will produce widespread storms across the region. Rain chances for tomorrow will increase to 70%. A front will move across Acadiana tomorrow evening, bringing in cooler and drier air.
This cooler air will settle in for Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 60s and morning starts in the 40s both Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Another disturbance moves in on Thursday, bringing storm chances right back into the forecast.
