Blue Bell Creameries releases new ice cream flavor: Gooey Butter Cake

The new flavor, Gooey Butter Cake, is described as "flavorful Cake Batter Ice Cream combined with a luscious cream cheese swirl and rich, gooey butter cake pieces."
BRENHAM, Texas (KLFY) -- Blue Bell Creameries has released a new flavor, in honor of the company's expension into the St. Louis market.
The new flavor, Gooey Butter Cake, is described as "flavorful Cake Batter Ice Cream combined with a luscious cream cheese swirl and rich, gooey butter cake pieces."
Carl Breed, vice president, sales and marketing for Blue Bell, said the new product is in stores beginning today, the same day Blue Bell products arrive in St. Louis.
"Our new Gooey Butter Cake Ice Cream is as delicious as the cake made famous in St. Louis," Breed said. "Our ice cream is a great introduction if you have not tasted a gooey butter cake. There are delicious pieces of cake in each bite. And our Cake Batter Ice Cream combined with a cream cheese swirl is, as they say, the icing on the cake."
Gooey Butter Cake is available in the half-gallon and pint sizes for a limited time.
