Pecan Island man arrested, charged with series of camp burglaries

PECAN ISLAND, La. (KLFY) -- A man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in Vermilion Parish, authorities said.
Ricky Wayne Miller, 40, of Pecan Island is charged with on four counts of simple burglary and one count each of possession of Methamphetamine and illegal possession of Suboxone, according to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon.
Vermilion Parish Sheriff deputies responded Sunday to a camp burglary in the Pecan Island area of Vermilion Parish. A total of four campsites were reported burglarized, and warrants were obtained through video surveillance, officials said.
Couvillon said that Miller was arrested without incident and booked into the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Correctional Center with a total bond of $82,000.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow, Couvillon said.
