Morgan City woman dies in Wednesday morning single-vehicle crash
Bridget Skinner, 52, of Morgan City died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, authorities said.
MORGAN CITY, La. (KLFY) -- A Morgan City woman has died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The crash claimed the life of Bridget Skinner, 52, of Morgan City.
Morgan City Police said officers responded at about 10 a.m. Wednesday to La. 70 near Veterans Blvd. to a report of a vehicle crash. Authorities said Skinner was traveling north bound on La. 70 in a 2018 Dodge Challenger. The vehicle began to accelerate and for reasons still under investigation left the roadway, striking a tree before coming to rest partially overturned. officials said Skinner was the sole occupant in the vehicle.
Skinner was removed from the vehicle by the Morgan City Fire Department and was pronounced dead by the St. Mary Parish Coroner's Office. The Louisiana State Police assisted with the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
