Monroe man accused of sexually assaulting mentally disabled employee
A Monroe man has been arrested after allegedly repeatedly raping a mentally disabled employee, authorities said.
MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) -- A Monroe man has been arrested after allegedly repeatedly raping a mentally disabled employee, authorities said.
Monroe Police began an investigation on Feb. 5 of a sex offense that allegedly occurred on Whitney Drive. The initial investigation reportedly started on Feb. 1 by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office.
According to court documents, the initial investigation revealed that a 28-year-old mentally disabled female victim was allegedly raped by her employer, Nasser Hussain Mohamed Qayed. The victim was interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center and the alleged sex offense was confirmed.
Authorities said the victim's disability prevents her from living a normal, independent, adult life and she is not capable of living alone and making normal life decisions. According to court documents, Qayed was accused of raping the victim on multiple occasions beginning in 2020.
Authorities said investigators made contact with a witness who told officials that he observed Qayed allegedly taking the victim to a residence in December 2022 when he was doing remodeling work for the suspect. The suspect allegedly admitted that he was having a sexual relationship with the victim while talking to the witness.
Qayed was arrested Wednesday and charged with third-degree rape, authorities said. He is set to appear in the 4th Judicial District Court on Friday.
